You will need:
- 2 White & 1 Black pieces of paper
- Pencil
- Watercolor paints
- Paint brush
- Sharpie® marker
- Scissors
- Glue
1. Draw a large lion on one of the white pieces of paper: a large circle for the mane and a smaller inset circle for the head, with 2 ears. Draw a flattened stylized body with 2 legs in front and 2 in the back. Don’t forget the curly tail as well.
2. Draw all kinds of patterns on the mane and body of the lion. Maybe make a list first of as many patterns as you can think of, then add them to the lion, drawing sections of patterns over his whole body. Draw your own lion face too, being as creative as you like.
3. With the second white piece of paper, draw large stylized leaves, filling up the whole paper with leaves.
4. Paint the lion as colorfully as you like with watercolors. You can follow your drawn pattern lines or not. The black Sharpie® can define your patterns but the watercolor paint can flow wherever you like. Paint the leaves also, whatever colors you want to come up with. They don’t have to be green.
5. After paint is dry, use the Sharpie® marker to outline your lion and the leaves. Draw over your pencil patterned lines and his face and whiskers. Draw some vein lines on the leaves if you like too.

6. Bubble cut out the lion and each individual leaf. Arrange them first on the black paper with some leaves in front of the lion and some in back. Once it looks good, glue each one down individually. Don’t forget to glue the tips.
