- Elmer’s Glue
- Various colored paper: Origami paper, Scrapbook or Magazine pages
- Scissors or X-acto blade
- Brush
- Mod Podge or a Clear Glaze
1. Cut paper into 8” x 1” strips. The width of the strip can be varied, from 1/2” to about 1 1/2 “.
2. Roll the strip of paper around the toothpick, color on the outside. Make sure to roll the paper as tight as possible.
3. Put a tiny drop of glue on the inside end and hold for a moment.
4. Paint a coat of Mod Podge or Clear Glaze on bead. Let dry. After paper is dry, remove
toothpick.
Tips:
- Make sure to wash hands thoroughly before rolling beads.
- Try rolling the paper on the toothpick just to get a curl on the paper. Then start
rolling again very tight to the toothpick. - Tapered beads are made by cutting the strips into a triangle shape and rolling the widest
end first.
