Ink Blot Bugs

You will need:

  • Drawing paper*
  • Ink
  • Straw
  • Oil pastel crayons

*A coated paper may work easier for some children and have less absorbency before folding.

Directions:
1. Fold paper in half.
2. Use the inks’ eyedropper to drop random blops of ink on one of the inside halves of the paper.

3. Use the straw to blow the ink out, creating longer strands of ink into interesting shapes and lines.

4. Immediately fold the paper together in order to make a mirror image of the ink blot.
5. After ink is dry, use oil pastels to add detail and define face and body features.
