2. Pour paint in a small container, preferably one with a wide opening
such as a custard cup.

3. Cut off a piece of string about 15 inches long. Submerge string in
cup of paint. Hold string over cup to remove excess drops of paint.

4. Lay string on one side of the open paper in an interesting design,
leaving an inch or two of string beyond the edge of the paper.
5. Fold the other half of the paper over the string. With one hand,
loosely hold the paper closed. With the other hand, slowly pull the
string out from the paper. Open to a new and different piece of art
each time!

6. Optional: Try carefully dipping part of the string in one color and
another part in a different color. Also, try adding a few drops of ink
on the string after dipping it in paint. Continue as before, by pulling
string through the folded piece of paper.
